Summer has finally hit Sydney!
After enjoying the final day of the Manly Jazz Fest (another great free festival in Sydney), it looks like a good time to post about some upcoming free festivals in Sydney:
It’s here again: October 8 – 25, 2015 in Hyde Park.
Free entry, but you have to pay for your food. Still nice to walk through and soak up the ambience if you want to do it on the cheap (bring your own dinner). Last year they had free ping pong tables for visitors to enjoy.
2. Central Perk Pop up Cafe – Hyde Park
Friends on Stan have set up the couch from TV show Friends and a pop up Central Perk Cafe on the south end of Hyde Park. Right near Darlinghurst. Only from 5 October to 18 October 2015.
Free event but last I saw there was a massive queue on the opening day yesterday. Only open until 5pm.
Returns this October 22 – November 8, 2015.
Bondi – Tamarama beach only. Always worth the walk, best to go off-peak times to avoid the crowds (later evening or weekdays).
4. Newtown Festival – 8 November 2015
Always a favourite amongst locals and further afield. Has a strong sustainability focus which is always good! The festival takes over Camperdown Memorial Rest Park, just behind King St.
Great day out, bring your own picnic rug to be more comfortable. Great music but expect queues at the food stalls (as expected).
5. Glebe St Fair – 15 November 2015
A great fair along Glebe Point Road. Another great family friendly day with street acts, local artists, stalls and food.
There’s a lot happening in Sydney in the next couple of months – get into it!
