Sydney Night Noodle Markets – Hyde Park

Night Noodle markets are back in Sydney this year for 2 weeks until October 26 for Sydney’s Good Food month. (open each night except Sundays).

Travel bunny was at the opening night on Wednesday 9 October.

The majority of Sydney’s famous asian restaurants all have a stall set up (Mamak, Longrain, New Shanghai House, Chat Thai, Din Tai Fung, Zilver, East Oceans etc). Most have little tid bits on sale if you just want to try the cuisine without buying a full meal.

While prices are not always cheaper than eating in the restaurant, the ambience is worth a trip down.

After 6 pm....

Average price for a take away plate of food: $13

1 dim sum/small snacks and treats available from $2.50-$3.

Average drink price: $5

Desserts also available.

Expect: queues at the major restaurant stalls between 6-8pm.

There are DJs spinning tracks near the bar areas to liven up the markets as well as different seating areas.

The lantern area near St James station entrance was my favourite part!

Recommended:

– go for the asian style mats and low tables near the southern entrance (not recommended for those with bad backs and knees!).

– go at 5pm or after 8pm to avoid queues and to get a table easily.
