French café in Sydney – Le Pain Quotidien

Travel bunny has been a bad blogger lately. Very, very, sorry! Taking lot’s of pictures and visiting lot’s of groovy new places just not blogging them.

Great news! Le Pain Quotidien has arrived in Australia with currently 4 shops in Sydney: The Rocks, Westfield at Centrepoint tower, Bondi Junction and Double Bay.

The rustic French café chain has  replicated the same warm feel with the wooden décor and communal tables (YES!) and free wi-fi (so good for travellers). Pictures here of their beautiful Westfield café. The Rocks is a little small and pokey, but still lovely feel.

Communal table

Travel bunny loves the communal table as the idea of greater interaction between people rather than the isolated private tables that Aussies and people still seem to prefer. Sadly the few times Travel bunny has been to Le Pain Quotidien in Sydney and sat at the communal table, very few others sit there or will sit on the other end.

The other side, private tables

The food appears to be of similar quality and they have their range of delicious praline and other tasty spreads for sale.

Gorgeous french desserts (Tarte au Citron, lemon tart)

Average price is around $4-5 for a drink and more for a cake or tasty treat.

Their delicious coffee in a bowl mug! French style!
