Sensory Lab – Hip Bondi cafe

Well with a hip, hop, hippie to the hippie, this hip happening cafe on Hall St, Bondi rocks simple great food and amazing coffee and tea.

Well I’m lying on the coffee part. It looks like they do great coffee from the set up the smell and the professionalism of the baristas, but I couldn’t resist their honey soaked chai loose leaf tea made on a soy milk.

IMG_3981The chai tea is very tasty and rivals my old favourite Gertrude and Alice’s (almost opposite on Hall St). I still love their book store ambience, however they are forever busy so always hard to get a table.

Sensory Lab on the other hand has an open layout and rocks awesome hip hip, funk and soul music.

They have funky half crescent tables and also a few street-side views.

Staff are super friendly, not minding when I pay the bill and remade my chai as they said the first batch was too watery. The invited me to hang out past closing time as they’d be cleaning up anyway.

Their banana bread recommendation was spot on and nicely toasted.

Friendly, relaxed environment with groovy pot vines decorating the walls.

Definitely a local for the locals and might be my new hang out!
